BW: What distinguishes Rubin & Chapelle today?
SR: For us, luxury begins with consideration. It is the 
material, the way something is cut, the way it is made, 
and the way it feels on the body. We aren’t very inter-
ested in clothing that needs to announce itself.
KC: We want the clothes to feel modern but also to 
remain relevant. A Rubin & Chapelle piece should still 
feel compelling years after it was made.
BW: Bias-cut silhouettes, silk, and color have 
become signatures of the collection. Why?
SR: Bias cutting allows fabric to respond to the body 
in a way that a more rigid construction doesn’t. There 
is movement and sensuality, but it can remain very 
quiet. We have always loved silk for the same reason. 
It changes with movement and light.
BW:今天的 Rubin & Chapelle 最与众不同
之处是什么？
SR:对我们来说，奢华始于考量。它关乎面料、
剪裁、制作方式，以及衣服穿在身体上的感受。
我们对那种必须大声宣告自己存在的服装，
并没有太大兴趣。
KC: 我们希望衣服既有现代感，也能持续保持
意义。一件 Rubin & Chapelle 的作品，即使

BW:斜裁廓形、丝绸与色彩，已经成为系列的
标志。为什么？
SR:斜裁让面料能够以更自然的方式回应身
体，而不是依赖更僵硬的结构。它有流动感，
也有感性，但仍然可以非常安静。我们一直喜
欢丝绸，也是出于同样的原因。它会随着动作
与光线发生变化。
