外，而最能承载这种时刻的建筑，正是那种早已消融
了餐厅与花园之间墙界的住宅。

In practice that means calibrating drama against 
calm.
“We think of gathering spaces as the heart of a 
home,” the partners say, “places designed not 
around a single use, but around connection, con-
versation, and an effortless flow between people.”
The difficulty is scale. A room that holds 40 
people for a celebration must also hold two on 
a Tuesday without feeling abandoned. The firm 
resolves it through proportion and circulation 
rather than volume: how one space opens onto 
the next, where the ceiling drops, where the 
material changes underfoot, how far the doors 
slide back before the terrace becomes part of the 
room.
It is a useful principle for a season organized 
around a shared table. The Mid-Autumn Festival 
gathers a household outdoors beneath a full 
moon, and the architecture that serves it best 
is the kind that has already dissolved the wall 
between the dining room and the garden. 
